Responsibilities

As a Purchasing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships across Brisbane and international markets
  • Placing purchase orders and managing supplier communications
  • Overseeing stock replenishment (DIFOT) with a focus on product life cycles
  • Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on stock levels and inventory-related issues
  • Managing income generation through investment buying
  • Collating and maintaining accurate supplier information
  • Liaising with Customer Service and Warehouse teams on stock-related matters
  • Ensuring accurate pricing is applied across products
  • Analyzing sales and purchasing data to support decision-making
  • Assisting with sales, warehousing, shipping, and administrative tasks as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management within shipping, food services, FMCG, or supply chain environments
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
