Responsibilities
As a Purchasing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships across Brisbane and international markets
- Placing purchase orders and managing supplier communications
- Overseeing stock replenishment (DIFOT) with a focus on product life cycles
- Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on stock levels and inventory-related issues
- Managing income generation through investment buying
- Collating and maintaining accurate supplier information
- Liaising with Customer Service and Warehouse teams on stock-related matters
- Ensuring accurate pricing is applied across products
- Analyzing sales and purchasing data to support decision-making
- Assisting with sales, warehousing, shipping, and administrative tasks as required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management within shipping, food services, FMCG, or supply chain environments
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
