Responsibilities
As a Wildlife Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting regulatory compliance activities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992, including responding to public complaints, conducting audits of permit holders, and investigating illegal activities involving native flora and fauna.
- Assisting in the care and husbandry of native wildlife held due to compliance actions.
- Promoting awareness and understanding of conservation values to the public, ensuring safe and lawful interaction with native animals.
- Applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support wildlife management and educational programs.
- Collaborating effectively with team members to maintain a productive and supportive work environment.
Requirements
