About the Company

Bell Hill Dairy is part of Pāmu (Landcorp Farming Limited), a leading organisation within New Zealand’s farming sector known for innovation, sustainability, and strong team culture. Located in the stunning Greymouth / Lake Brunner region of the West Coast, Bell Hill Dairy is a progressive farm milking 900 cows through a modern 60-bail rotary shed. Spanning 505 hectares (450 ha effective), the farm features unique humped-and-hollowed land ideal for efficient, large-scale dairy production.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily milking, animal feeding, and general livestock care.
  • Support calving, animal health management, and shed hygiene.
  • Help with effluent management, spraying, pastures, and fencing tasks.
  • Participate in mating plans and stock movement, including using Halter technology.
  • Operate farm machinery and maintain equipment as required.
  • Contribute to overall farm performance by following health, safety, and animal welfare protocols.
  • Work collaboratively within a high-performing team to support operational goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in dairy farming is preferred, but a strong interest in developing a farming career is also welcomed.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Commitment to animal welfare, safety standards, and continuous improvement.
  • A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence.
  • Must be eligible for an in-person interview and have unrestricted legal rights to work in New Zealand.
  • Successful applicants must pass a drug and alcohol test and a criminal background check.
  • Applicants on temporary work visas cannot be considered for permanent roles.
